Herbert Sidney Palmer

(1881-1970 Herbert Sidney Palmer was born in Toronto and studied at the Central Ontario School of Art and Design. Palmer was active in many art groups including the Ontario Society of Artists, the Royal Canadian Academy and was a founding member of the Toronto Arts and Letters Club. From 1926-1941 he was curator of the Fine Art Department of the Canadian National Exhibition and developed an extensive knowledge of Canadian artists. His work is represented in such collections as The National Gallery, The Art Gallery of Ontario and many private collections.
